You’ll have a stop at Charlotten burg Castle: in the 17th century the electors of Brandenburg started to build ostentatious and grand residences. Continue along Avenue of June 17th through Tiergarten Park and past the Victory Column built after Prussian victory over Denmark in the 19th century. Stop at the Brandenburg Gate and the Reich stag. See the architectural highlight Potsdam Square before continuing to Berlin’s Eastside Gallery, the longest fragment of the Berlin Wall. Checkpoint Charlie is a poignant reminder of this once divided city. Drive along the famous Unterden Linden Boulevard with its many fine buildings including the NeueWache, home of the Käthe Kollwitz War Memorial, the Russian Embassy, the Humboldt University, the Crown-Prince Palais and the Zeughaus. See the Opera Square where in 1933 the infamous book burning took place. Continue to Museum Island, Red City Hall and Alexander Platz dominated by Berlin’s 368 meters (1,200 foot) high TV-Tower. Naturally you’ll cross Kurfürstendamm, the city’s grandest commercial avenue and pass the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church.
