Tour Details

Given Barcelona’s long-lived history, this majestic city is filled with loads of interesting architectonical sites. Barcelona for children and teens is one of the most exciting European destination. One of its most precious areas – and the oldest one as well and it is fascinating – it is the Gothic Quarter for kids and adults alike. As you can probably tell by the name, it is a rather eerie but, nevertheless, fascinating area; host to several peculiar little houses and ancient shops. Having loads to see, it is not recommendable to go visit the city of Barcelona blindly without the best help you could ever get. However, with our Gothic Quarter Barcelona walking tour for families, we are guaranteed to offer you all the assistance you can possibly get – and more – to make this experience for you and your family truly unforgettable. Come and board with us on this adventure!

At the very beginning of all our walking tours in Barcelona, our licensed & family friendly guide will provide your kids with an activity book containing riddles and games to be filled out as the tour proceeds. This will guarantee a fun and interactive way of learning for your kids.

Your meeting point will be at Via Laietana – just outside metro Jaume I – in front of the Hotel Suizo. It will also be possible to collect you from your hotel, as long as it is not too far from the tour’s attractions. From the meeting point follow your guide into some of the oldest and most traditional shops of Barcelona, where your children will be able to taste all sorts of local Barcelonan sweets, including candy and desserts.

Being part of the former Roman Empire, a whole section of Barcelona is actually addressed as the Ancient Roman city – the next stop of the Gothic Quarter tour. Your children, aided by our professional guide, will have to solve a series of riddles in their activity book, to discover the Roman name of the city and uncover the mystery of the ancient temple. So, tell your children to take their detective skills and fervor for adventure with them to assure they will have the best time possible. Take your time to marvel at the amazing architectural structures, including a preserved fortified wall, dating back all the way to the old 3rd century.

While in Barcelona, do not miss the chance to educate your children about what really makes a city powerful. Surely having an outstanding patrimony of historically and culturally renowned sites contributes towards that. But with our Spain4Kids Gothic Quarter Ultimate Family tour, your children will be taken to the true heart of power of the city of Barcelona. Be ready to learn all about where the president and major of the city work, while finding out about important Barcelonan flags. Our guide will be able to tell you tons of marvelous stories about the statues in the square. In particular the legend of the statue of the Barcelonan patron saint is guaranteed to make history come alive! So, come with us, let your imagination travel and help us spot the fantastic statue of the Barcelonan patron saint!

The city of Barcelona is also the host to many lively folkloric festivals. Given its cultural richness, this city radiates culture from every corner of its streets. Come with us to explore the mystical world of Giants and Beasts at the amazing Giants museum. Learn all about the roles these giants play in typical Barcelonan festivals and, you never know, maybe your father is as tall as they are. Be aware of your hats as, in this world full of Giants, you just might find yourself at a disadvantage!

The last stop of our tour will be the medieval king’s square. All of us have, at least once in our life, dreamed about how different our lives would be if we were kings, queens, princess and princesses. But don’t fear any longer because our guides are exactly there to help us make our dreams come true. In fact, come and meet, King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella, the former Spanish royal family. Step into our time travelling machine to the medieval times and be ready to reenact stories and mystical adventures just as true royals!

So, what are you waiting for? Take your family to this edutaining all Gothic Quarter tour for families. Let your little ones’ imagination flow through the streets of the magnificent Barcelona, while learning all about this historical and cultural hub of the World!
