THE DRACH CAVES

After a 1 hour driving from the capital Palma along the picturesque Paseo Maritimo, there’s Porto Cristo, a charming fishing arbor on east side of the island, where you could visit the famous Caves, that host the largest underground lake in Europe ( Guinness, remember?). During the journey, your local guide will provide fascinating information about the surrounding area.
This place is magic for many reasons, not least of which is that these 4 fantastic caves form a particular hydrogeological formation. A huge underground expanse of sandstone and semiprecious agates create weird formations, and also delicate bouquets of stalactites and stalagmites glisten. An expert illuminator Carlos Buigas mounted a multicolored light show … what an unforgettable experience! In your 1 hour visit into the Caves you’ll get to listen to a live music performance: musicians seated on smalls boats and surrounded by a lights show called “ The Sun Rising Show” will make the atmosphere even more magical with theirs violins and cellos!
After the concert, a boat ride on the lake is also available, as well as a visit to the famous pearl factory.
