Though visiting Rome can become pretty expensive, only a few tourists know that there are plenty of museums you can see for free. Why not taking the opportunity to visit such an amazing amount of beautiful works of art if it’s for free?
FIRST SUNDAY
Not many tourists know that on the first Sunday of each month all public museums in Italy can be visited for free. That includes also monuments and archaeological sites that are state property. This new law was introduced in 2014 and since then each first sunday many museums get crowded. While it’s a great opportunity to visit great museums for free, tourists should also take into account that they might be required to wait on a long que before entering their favorite site. So remember this option on the next useful dates (March 5th, April 2nd, May7th) and make sure you plan your day in the most convenient way.

Praz Museum, Museum Boncompagni Ludovisi for decorative Arts and Costume , National Gallery of Ancient Art (Palazzo Barberini and the Palazzo Corsini) ,Galleria Spada ,National Museum of Palazzo Venezia,Oriental Art “G. LAST SUNDAY
The Vatican Museums have always been free (and crowded!) the last Sunday of each month.
Opening times are from 09:00 to 12:30, and guests must leave by 14:00. The ticket entitles you to the same access as a normal ticket. Normally, the cost of the ticket is 16€ (plus € 4 if you book online).

●Museum Burchard-A museum on theater and commedia dell’arte, with books, documents and various memorabilia.

●Museo Barraco-Discover the fabulous collection that Giovanni Barraco donated to the municipality of Rome in 1902.
